The United Nations warned on Monday that Sudan’s humanitarian needs are increasing to ‘unprecedented levels’, citing the economic crisis, prolonged dry spells, and last year’s erratic rainfall…
Following is an outline of the factors behind Sudan’s worsening humanitarian situation:
Millions more Sudanese are set to go hungry this year as economic turmoil and erratic rains drive up prices and reduce harvests, with a halt to foreign assistance and the war in Ukraine putting food supplies at further risk.
UN warns up to 18 million could be in need of aid by September as food prices soar due to conflict, poor harvests and economic crisis

Conclusion
To sum up, April wasn’t that bright for finance, and business. The past month witnessed many armed robberies that happened to shops and individuals. The Central Bank of Sudan banned the usage of cryptocurrency inside Sudan , which was a safe financial haven just like gold and real estate, in the circumstances of scarce hard currency and unstable decreasing value of the Sudanese pound. The outlook is rather very dark because millions of Sudanese citizens are susceptible to hunger and famine in the upcoming few months. Also, the prices of both products and services increased drastically.
I have nothing to say other than that I hope that I would be able to cover more positive news for business, finance, technology, travel and tourism in Sudan for the upcoming fourth issue of this newsletter in May/25/2022.
Don’t forget to share it with your friends, family, and all those who might be interested. Also, my door is always open for any feedback or advice.
And see you next month !
Cheers,
Ahmed El-Affendi.
