To conclude, July had its bad news and its bad news. The bad news is that the Founder of Acropole Hotel died and July was full of fire. Fire that burned warehouses in Bahri, burned palms in Northern State, and burned shops in Blue Nile State. Sudan still suffers from the hazard of famine and food insecurity. Multiple gangs who were experts in faking banknotes and ground coffee were caught. Sudan also has a Trade imbalance of 1.2 Billion Dollars, and 40% of its budget depends on external support and Sudan’s Gold is still being exported in tons but there’s no tangible impact in the economy of Sudan. And many people who are working in mining gold are being infected with diseases and health problems due to unhealthy practices of mining gold.
The good news is that Bloom App got funds worth of 6.5 Million American Dollars making it the largest funded startup in Sudan and East Africa. 249 Startups, Sudan’s largest and main startups incubator, opens its second branch in Darfur dedicated for incubating the startups of the Western States of Sudan. American Center reopens in Khartoum. A new fancy restaurant at Khartoum opens called “Palmas Restaurant”. Rihla adds a new destination for their tours around Sudan, which is Kadogli.
So that was it for July/2022. Don’t forget to share it with your friends, family, and all those who might be interested. And see you next month !
Cheers,
Ahmed El-Affendi.
